Waterfall in Kadvu |
Had to hike way down in to see them |
Brother Laul and his son having so much fun at the falls. That little guy could scale those rocks like a pro |
Elder Gregory, my hero!. He never left my side helping me climb out. There were huge boulders to climb on and around. He was such a life saver. Boy, was I tired. |
Hiking into the Koma farm. These members live two hours from the church. We didn't walk that far, we had a transport take us to their farm. Not so for them each Sunday. |
They have eighty acres and every bit of it has been planted with beautiful, healthy crops. That is pineapple growing by their home. |
Brother Koma, see the straight rows, that is how every thing looks, neat as a pin. He has the only tiller on the island. He uses it a lot. |
This is called a hand of bananas. They grow everywhere on their farm. They are so sweet and yummy. |
Sister Kama served us cakes, and cut up fruit and honey comb dripping with honey. Yummy fruit punch. She is the neatest lady. caption |
Sister Kama, Elder Wells, Sister Wells, Sister Walker front row) Elder Gregory Brother Kama and his grandson, Elder Olsen |
What a blessing to get to know these modern day pioneers. They are first generation LDS. What a lovely couple. Who live the gospel and show their love for the Savior by serving him so well. |
No washing machines and look at those white shirts. What an amazing group of priesthood holders being trained by Elder Walker and Elder Wells |
This meal was put on for us after church. They came with pots on their heads and backpack filled with delicious food. Look even table clothes! |
Fun, laughter, and so much good company. The children are darling. Kent warned the mothers if your little ones are missing look for Sister Wells she probably has borrowed them. caption |
The beautiful relief society sister who made this amazing meal possible. The cute lady in the green dress lives two hours from the church. They walk each week and are so faithful. |
A few of the faithful women on Kadau. They are my heroes. |
Wow, a mermaid that doesn't get into the water. |
My goodness, we found something older than us (the rocks) |
The boat that brought us from our lodging to the side of the island the church was on. We had to walk in the water for about 100 yards. Too bad I don't have more faith, I wouldn't have got wet. |
I didn't say Kent didn't get in the water. He loves it. It is legal we are senior missionaries. |
My favorite island of all the islands in Fiji. Not bad place to rest your head. Fifteen minute boat ride from the airfield to the resort. |
Outside view. What a beautiful place. Yes, we work really hard, most of the time. |

Promise we didn't dive. |
Lovely food, atmosphere, and such wonder hosts. |
Here we are on our way to the island of Kadvau. It is south of Suva. We are going with Elder and Sister Walker. Elder and Sister McFaddin in the back are wishing us well. |
The mighty plane we were on. A fourteen seat plane.. There were six of flying out. |
This is the professional rugby team from Tonga. We were staying at the same hotel in Lautoka (a city on the west side of the island) We were there doing training and auditing. |
As luck has it, the hotel manager happens to e a member. So she introduced the team to us. They were so gracious and kind to us. |
This is a big I mean BIG group of guys. It was fun meeting them. We later found out that a few of them were members.
|
This is their autographs they signed for our grandson (rugby player from St. George) |
We are at Port Danerou in the west end of the island. It is a modern out door mall like you would see in the states. A big tourist trap. The ships come in to this port and many of the cruz ships. |
We are here with Romlus, a great guy we work with at the service center |
Myself I have the onion rings and burger. Elder Wells likes it with fries. Great meat, you can actually taste beef Not mystery meat we get other places. |
Look really close from left to right, you can see the sleeping giant. This is one of many minnie grocery stores compare the modern above and this picture. You see the contrast all over the island. |
