Elder Niel L.lAnderson

On Feb. 15 we had the blessing of being in a missionary conference with Elder Neil L. Andersen, his wife, Elder Callister and his wife.  It was a very inspiring conference.  All of the missionaries were brought in from all the islands.  The talks were so good!

Later that evening we attended a special cultural celebration for them.  All stakes and branches participated  It was a beautiful night of song and dance.  They had dances from every culture down here.

Our stay in Nadi

These are the Terrys they are from St. George, Ut  We have traveled to Nadi (other side of Fiji) to do auditing.  Terrys are in charge of taking care of the flats (apartments) and fixing things for the missionaries, buying supplies and making sure they are in good conditions.  She works in the mission office when not with him.    We had a beautiful hotel to stay in and yummy food.

See the pole with the American flag on it .  Ya USA

This was a resort we stopped to check out. l It has it's own lagoon.  Very pretty.  Anyone need us to make reservations for you. It was a good trip we met, taught, and audited a very nice group of bishops, clerks, and stake president.            Not all play, but when we did we did!

Our first trip to the ocean

The day was just perfect.  There were four senior couples on this picnic, ocean adventure.  The water was like a warm bath.  The sun was very hot.  Sunburns to prove it.
This father and uncle were net fishing with the children.  They were so excited to have their pictures taken.  Notice the fish in their hands.

Kent and the other missionaries playing ocean tag with the children we met.
They were so cute.  He blistered his feet.  The sun was deadly.

Sun worshiping, I got a badly burned nose. It was worth it.
You see these chickens, well they became a part of our picnic.  We spread out our mat, set down together for lunch. Closed our eyes began to pray.  Elder Peterson let out a yelp as a chicken jumped into the middle of us and took a big bite of his sandwich.  It startled all of us, all we could do was laugh  The chicken is lucky we didn't take it home in a bag.
The Suva Temple.
We are so lucky to work right next to the temple.  We get to go once a week and every now and then we are asked to come quick and help be the witness couple as there is sometimes not enough couples there to do that.  We have lots of groups that fly in from the different islands and will stay in patron housing ( in the Service Center)  It has been such a blessing to attend with the different groups.  They are such devoted members, so humble and loving.

Our arrival at our flat in Suva

Aucland from our hotel

Auckland was amazing.  The sights were so beautiful, especially in the early morning hours.

These are views from our hotel.  We were on the 17lth floor. We had two days of training in Auckland.  Then off to Suva.

You see man's creation?  Yes there was tennis courts, it was truly painful looking at them and knowing the rackets were back in PG.  OUCH

January 6,2014. . Trip to Aculand, New Zeland

January 6, 2014

Today we flew from Los Angeles had a layover.  It took us 13 hrs. to fly to Auckland, New Zealand. What a flight!  Our seating  about 2ft by 3ft.  So tight you could not get anything off the floor in front of you.  Didn't do any good to bring a goody bag.  It got to the point all we could do was look at each other and laugh.  When they brought our meal we could hardly put our food to our mouths.  And sleeping was not going to happen.  However, we made it and the sights from the air were fantastic

Our plane was a Boeing 777
