Vuna Branch

This is Vuna.  It is a small branch way up in the mountains.  The Road to get there was the worst four wheeling road we have ever been on.  Only we were in a truck.  This is their chapel.  It has half walls and a lock on the door.  No one can steal the pulpit.  Kent audited there.  The door was locked and they forgot to bring the key.

This is the airport of Taveuni.  It is surprising how many

people come here for snorkeling, sight seeing and fun.  Notice Elder Wells and our friend Romulas

sitting and waiting for the plane.

Rainbows of colors everywhere

Next to the resort there was a 100 ft. wharf we walked along in the mornings.  At the end you could look into the water and see large blue star fish, schools of sword fish and many kinds we couldn't identify.  They were beautiful.

 

 

 

If you notice the hanging objects on the tree you will see hundreds of bats.  Each morning  we would hear what sounded like cats fighting and come to find out they were bats.  Spooky

The mission President

President and Sister Klingler.  He is the missionary president.  They are from Arizona. 

 They are responsible for 140 missionaries who live on many different islands.  They travel a lot to keep in touch.  They are very devoted to their calls and such a good example to us all.  Sister Klingler is a wiz in the kitchen, fixing banquets for everyone.  Making clothes for sister missionaries coming who have not the means of buying outfits.  She is amazing!
